The Best Halibut Chowder Recipe!

  • 2 lbs halibut
  • 2 cans of smoked oysters
  • 5 slices of crispy bacon
  • 3 cans of evaporated milk
  • 1 bottle ( 8oz) of clam juice
  • 4 peeled and cubed potatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 1 can of whole kernel corn undrained
  • 4 Tablespoons of butter
  • Minced Chives
  • As many mushrooms as you like ( optional)
  • Old Bay Seasoning. As much as you like!
Step 1.
Fry up the bacon to crispy and set aside.
I like to use a little of the bacon grease to fry the potatoes in making them a little browned. I like to add the onions too.
Step 2.
Add the 3-cans of milk and clam juice and add your potatoes and onions. Cook this on medium heat for 10 minutes. Don’t forget to add your Old Bay seasoning.
Step 3.
Time to add the can of corn. Don’t drain. Add the butter as well.
Add the fish and oysters Cook at medium heat 10 more minutes.
Step 4.
Time to add the bacon and mushrooms. ( Pre steam or fry mushrooms)
Step 5.
Add fresh chives and some more Old Bay! Don’t forget crackers!
